Yoga or yogam is an ancient Indian doctrine which meant for the health and happiness of human beings. The most important text of yoga , the patanjala yoga sutras by sage Patanjali, define yoga as chitavruti nirodha. Chita vruti nirodha means an absolute balance and harmony of mind. This state will be achieved only by making a balanced body, as the saying a sound mind reside only in a sound body.
The balance of habits is achieved by yama and niyama. The balance of body is achieved by asanas , the balance of breath and blood flow by pranayama , the control of sense organs by pratyahara, balance of emotions by dharana and finally full balance and harmony of self with dhyana.
